In 2005 the former Holy Trinity Church became the Holy Cross Orthodox Monastery. For decades our former church was known for making the best pierogies in the area. Since the church grounds were suitable for the establishment of a monastery, monks took over the church properties and decided to continue in this tradition. We made sure to use the same authentic recipes in order to make the most delicious pierogies. We decided to continue to make pierogies while doing our silent prayers, because as a monastery we have to generate some income to cover our living expenses. We also decided to give 10% of our profits to help families in need from our armed forces whose loved ones died in the line of duty and to establish scholarships for their children.

Pierogies are the most popular food in Eastern Europe, including Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Transylvania (Romania). Especially during the lenten seasons, the pierogies made up of various fillings are the most preferred food items. Today, pierogies are also becoming very popular in America, especially because the price is right, and they are very easy to prepare. In no time you can have a delicious, healthy, and natural meal.

Pierogies can be sauteed, boiled or deep fried. There are many ways of serving pierogies: as an appetizer, a main course, or eaten plain, with fruits or sour cream.

We assure you that the pierogies made in our monastery kitchen have the best taste, have a lot of fillings, and are of top quality.

Yours Sincerely in Christ,
Father Nicholas
